Congress to Campus
By Todd Hatton
Murray, KY – Wednesday was Constitution Day, commemorating the day in 1787 the US Constitution was signed in Philadephia. Murray State University celebrated Constitution Day by hosting the Stennis Center for Public Service's Congress to Campus Program. The program seeks to get more young people involved in public service. Two retired congressmen, one Democrat and one Republican, visit campuses nationwide and speak with students about government. Former Republican Representative Lou Frey of Florida and former Democratic Representative James Lloyd of California came to Murray State to share their insights. Todd Hatton spoke with them about the program, the political climate and where they think the country's headed.
