Clarksville, TN – A group of Clarksville residents are suing the city after their neighborhood's drainage system overflowed from excess rain and flooded the area last year. The flooding caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage. The lawsuits seek more than a million dollars, citing irreparable harm and claim the city's negligent upkeep of the system caused the flooding. The city has yet to file a legal response. City Attorney Lance Baker told the Clarksville Leaf Chronicle last year that for the city to be held liable, the defectiveness must have previously been brought to the city's attention.
