Christian County Traffic Stop Ends in Drug Bust

Hopkinsville Police Department

A routine traffic stop in Christian County turned into a drug bust Monday when police allegedly found more than 100 pounds of marijuana in a woman’s vehicle.

After 54-year-old Shirley Kay Humphrey was stopped for speeding on I-24, Hopkinsville Police K-9 unit “Enzo” alerted police to possible drugs in her car.

The seized marijuana has an estimated street value of $450,000.

Humphrey is lodged in the Christian County Jail on charges of speeding, marijuana trafficking and possession of an open alcohol container.

Kentucky State Police contributed to the arrest.
