Following an intensive selection process beginning in March,  the Christian County Chamber of Commerce has announced the hiring of its new President and CEO, Kelli Pendleton.

Pendleton holds a Bachelor's in Mass Communications from Auburn University and has been a community member for nearly 12 years. She has previous Chamber experience, serving as the Director of Military Affairs from 2010 to 2012.

Outgoing Chamber Board Chairman Frank Field believes Pendleton's experience and background will be beneficial to the community.

"She's a local candidate who knows and understands our community," said Field. "She's very comfortable in front of people, has previous Chamber experience, works very well with Fort Campbell, and will certainly represent our Chamber very well in going forward."

According to the Chamber's press release, Pendleton is excited for the opportunity to lead the organization.

"We as a community are engaged in exciting times," said Pendleton. "It is my goal to build upon our past growth by working with our community's leaders and citizens to continue growing our economic landscape and quality of life."

Pendleton's first official day in office will be Monday, July 13.
