Christian County Water District is investing $3.4 million to replace 40-year-old water lines around the county. Nearly $1 million of that investment comes from a Community Development Block Grant.
District General Manager James Owen says it will take around 9 months to replace the water lines along Dawson Springs Road and in other parts of the county. He says he hopes to put out a bid for the project in January 2017.
Customers will see a rate increase due to the project and inflation, but Owen says he isn’t sure how much the increase will be.
