Chris Thile plays Murray State: October 29 @ 7:30pm in Lovett Auditorium

Years ago, when Chris Thile’s family first moved to Murray, you heard a very young Chris perform on Music From the Front Porch. You may have heard Nickel Creek perform in Robert E. Johnson Theater for a WKMS Front Porch Concert. And you’ve definitely heard his singing, songwriting and mandolin-playing on public radio for over a decade, whether with Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers, or solo.

Now Chris Thile is coming back home to Murray State in a big way – playing a benefit concert Thursday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Lovett Auditorium, with all proceeds advancing music programs at MSU. We’re pleased to be presenting partners.

Tickets on sale now on Ticketmaster and at the CFSB Center Box Office.

Proceeds from the Chris Thile Benefit Concert at Murray State University will be used to establish a new scholarship fund in the Department of Music through the MSU Foundation. Chris recognizes that the greatest need for the MSU Department of Music is for student scholarships - many Murray State music students are still first-generation college students who deeply desire an opportunity for an education in music but whose families struggle to find the financial means to bring their dreams to reality.
