Chiropractor Pleads Not Guilty to Sex Abuse Charges

Graves County Jail

A Mayfield chiropractor accused of sexually abusing his patients and employees has pleaded not guilty.

Stephen McAdoo appeared in Graves County Circuit Court on Monday to plead not guilty to three counts of first-degree sexual abuse.

McAdoo was charged in March after the Graves County Sheriff's Office investigated numerous complaints from former patients and employees who said McAdoo touched them inappropriately. A grand jury in October indicted him on three of nine felony counts.

Commonwealth Attorney Mark Blankenship says McAdoo will refuse any plea deal that would require him to give up his license to practice. Blankenship says any deal would have to include McAdoo's license being forfeited.

The sides have until Jan. 30 to reach an agreement or opt to go to trial.
