The CEO of a Paducah-based novelty ice cream company has issued an open letterto President Donald Trump’s Press Secretary, who for several years has taken to Twitter to air grievances over their branding.

Dippin’ Dots CEO Scott Fischer said in the letter to Sean Spicer the company employs hundreds of Kentucky workers and has had strong sales growth over three years. He said he shares in President Trump’s agenda to create jobs and opportunities and offered to “be friends rather than foes.”

Spicer has taken issue with the company’s slogan “Ice Cream of the Future” -in several tweets dating as far back as 2010 saying that “Dippin Dots is NOT the ice cream of the future” and as recently as 2015, when he complained about the company running out of the vanilla flavor.

Dippin' Dots struggled with bankruptcy in 2011 and resolved their financial woes in 2013, followed by an expansion at their Paducah location.
