Calloway County Church to Hold Vigil in Response to Vegas Shooting

stjohnsmurray.org

A Calloway County reverend is calling on communities to come together after the Las Vegas shooting Sunday night.

St. John’s Episcopal Church is hosting a vigil in response to the attack that claimed at least 59 lives and injured over 500. Event organizer Rev. Matt Bradley says the response to a tragedy like this is two-sided: one being faith-based, the other political.

“So that the person who advocates for gun rights and the person who advocates for gun control can sit down together, hear one another with open ears and heart, and acknowledge that this is something that can’t continue to go on and to ask each other ‘How can we do this together?’” says Bradley.

Bradley says the vigil will also give thanks to the first responders involved. The vigil will take place at 6 o’clock Wednesday,  at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
