Princeton, KY – Caldwell County School District officials are working to develop a comprehensive drug testing policy. Task force leader and School Health Coordinator Will Brown says they had focused on instituting a random test for students in extra-curricular activities. However, the committee has dropped that option because it would not cover enough at-risk students. Brown says they are now exploring a program that targets low-performing or truant students. He says the goal will not be punishment, but treatment for students. Caldwell County currently has no student drug testing system. The committee meets again this summer to continue discussion.
