A feasibility study for a new wastewater treatment plant in Cadiz found expanding the existing plant would be more costly than building a new one entirely.

The Cadiz City Council voted last week  to begin the process in securing funds for a new plant. City Clerk Lisa Rogers says the city is still in the planning phase. Rogers says rates will increase. Water Management Systems is conducting the study, and estimates costs at $5.5 million dollars for the project.
