Murray, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has kicked off a statewide bus tour with other Democratic candidates leading up to the November 8th general election. Beshear began the tour Sunday afternoon in Lexington where he called on supporters to not allow overconfidence to make them complacent. Beshear faces challenges from Republican State Senate president David Williams and independent Lexington attorney Gatewood Galbraith. Polls have Beshear leading his closest competitor by 25 to 30 percentage points. Hoping to capitalize on Beshear's popularity, fellow Democrats running for agriculture commissioner, attorney general, auditor, secretary of state and treasurer are joining the incumbent governor on the bus tour.
