Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has tapped longtime auto executive Thomas Zawacki to serve as the new secretary of the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.  He will succeed the retiring Joseph Meyer July 1st.  Zawacki spent more than 33 years in the auto industry and had been chairman of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Foundation.  Since 2009, he has served as commissioner of the Department of Vehicle Regulation.  Beshear says Zawacki understands the skills employers need to build successful businesses and brings public- and private-sector experience to help meet those needs.

Todd Hatton hails from Paducah, Kentucky, where he got into radio under the auspices of the late, great John Stewart of WKYX while a student at Paducah Community College. He also worked at WKMS in the reel-to-reel tape days of the early 1990s before running off first to San Francisco, then Orlando in search of something to do when he grew up. He received his MFA in Creative Writing at Murray State University. He vigorously resists adulthood and watches his wife, Angela Hatton, save the world one plastic bottle at a time.
