Beshear Announces Greenway Grant

Paducah, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear announced yesterday that Paducah will receive a half-million dollar grant to build the center section of the approximately four and a half mile Greenway Trail that eventually will run from Noble Park to downtown. The Paducah Sun reports the money will be used for build 6,000 feet of trail along the earthen floodwall from U.S. 60 near Noble Park to U.S. 45 near the Irvin Cobb Bridge. It also will pay for some land acquisition and for a tunnel under U.S. 45. The trail is expected to be completed next year.
