Austin Peay Opens New Extension

Fort Campbell, KY – Austin Peay State University has opened a new campus extension at Fort Campbell. The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle reports the two-floor facility provides six classrooms, 30 offices and a conference room. Austin Peay had utilized space at an on-base education center, but needed room to grow after renovations in 2001 changed the facilities. Austin Peay's Fort Campbell Director Bill Cox says the base averages about fifteen hundred students a semester. He hopes the expansion will allow the university to offer more classes at Fort Campbell, including more graduate programs.
