The Yeiser Art Center in Paducah is currently showing its Fantastic Fibers exhibit.
Executive Director Lindsey Maestri tells Austin Carter about the unique art form on Sounds Good.
Maestri says the program has been around for a while, and is entering its 29th year. It’s evolved into an international exhibition that really shows what the fiber arts scene is all about.
The art form includes fantastic use of rich textures and colors, and encourages interaction with the viewer. It evokes a sense of connection that Maestri says is unique to fiber art.
Yeiser’s exhibit includes pieces that use a range of materials from plastics to quilts.
Fantastic Fibers opened earlier this month, and will run through June 4.
