[Audio, Slideshow] Puppies Sound Good: Meet Hardy

Meet Hardy, a puppy up for adoption at the Humane Society of Calloway County. Kathy Hodge with the humane society speaks to Tracy Ross on Sounds Good about Hardy and upcoming events.

Hardy is a 11-week-old male terrier mix, with a frisky personality. He’s a little shy when meeting people but warms up in an instant. The humane society first took him in as a young puppy and Hodge says she doesn’t know much about his history.

He comes in at about 10 pounds, and Hodge says he’ll grow up to be a medium-sized dog. The pup’s been around all sorts of animals and people, though he might not be ideal in a home with especially young children.

Hardy knows a few commands like “sit” and loves treats. He’s a playful pup but can entertain himself if no one’s around.

And Saturday, the humane society will partner with Murray State to hold its annual animal health technology day. It’s part of the MSU pre-vet program and allows students to demonstrate their skills. They’ll examine dogs and cats from all over the area. That takes place at the Carmen Pavilion in Murray starting at 8 A.M.

Later this month, the humane society will also hold its annual yard sale.

Tracy started working for WKMS in 1994 while attending Murray State University. After receiving his Bachelors and Masters degrees from MSU he was hired as Operations/Web/Sports Director in 2000. In 2001, Tracy revived Beyond The Edge, a legacy alternative music program that had been on hiatus for several years. Tracy was named Program Director in 2011 and created the midday music and conversation program Sounds Good in 2012 which he hosts Monday-Thursday. Tracy lives in Murray with his wife, son and daughter.
