[Audio] Paducah Tilghman Presents 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' This Weekend

Thoroughly Modern Millie at PTHS, Facebook

On Sounds Good, Tracy Ross speaks with the director and cast members of Thoroughly Modern Millie showing this weekend at Paducah Tilghman High School.

Director Matt Hines says the show is adapted from the 1967 film and 2000 Tony Award-winning stage musical. It centers around Millie, a girl from a small town in Kansas who moves to New York to find a husband that will move her up the social ladder. Hines says this show is an update on the old movie with big dance numbers, sliding props, great lighting, and a live orchestra.

The musical has two acts and runs about 2.5 hours but Hines says it is so upbeat that the time will fly by. There are two performances on Saturday, one at 2:30 p.m. and another at 7:00 p.m., with another 2:30 performance on Sunday. Tickets are available at shotix4u.com.

Tracy started working for WKMS in 1994 while attending Murray State University. After receiving his Bachelors and Masters degrees from MSU he was hired as Operations/Web/Sports Director in 2000.
