[Audio] Gearing Up for the 2nd Annual Moonlight Bike Ride in Paducah

Moonlight Bike Ride, Facebook

The 2nd Annual Moonlight Bike Ride benefits Paducah Cooperative Ministry this Saturday, where hundreds of participants will adorn their bikes with glow sticks and take a 10-mile ride through Paducah. On Sounds Good, Kate Lochte speaks with organizers Erin and Justin Lewis of the Chain Reaction Cycling Club about the event they're presenting with BikeWorld.

Erin and Justin Lewis said last year's inaugural event surpassed expectations, with between 375 to 400 participants, raising over $10,000 for Paducah Cooperative Ministry. This year, 250 people have already signed up, with many more likely on the day of the ride.

From 8 to 10 p.m. people are invited to BikeWorld for mingling, live music from Aaron Potter and Luke Taylor, ice cream from Paducah Bank and watermelon from First Baptist Church. Also, t-shirts first come, first serve. The ride starts at 10 p.m. from BikeWorld, to the west end area and then back downtown.

The organizers encourage people along the route to adorn their yards with glow sticks and signs. The ride is a fairly flat course and can be done at a leisurely pace. It's $25 to register. BikeWorld is located at 809 Joe Clifton Drive.
