[Audio] Car Seat Check Up, Fall Break Activities, Community Read at Calloway County Library

Matt Markgraf, WKMS

Community car seat safety checkup, disc golf, creepy critters, storybook theatre and a community read, Calloway County Public Library is busy this autumn. On Sounds Good, Tracy Ross catches up with Sandy Linn about these upcoming events.

On Friday, September 25, the library hosts a collaborative effort with Murray Head Start, the Marshall Co. Health Department, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety for a car seat safety checkup. The effort is to make sure your car seat is placed in the car correctly and in the right seat. They'll answer questions about recalls, expiration dates, placement, installation, seat selection and more. The Murray Fire Department is bringing trucks to display and tour, too.

The library hosts several free fall break events, including disc golf workshop for kids, "Creepy Critters" by Animal Tales, a storybook tales play by Bright Stars Theatre, and a movie afternoon - movie to be announced soon.

On Monday, September 28, they'll begin distribution and registration for the community read event sponsored by the Friends of Calloway County Public Library. The book is Somebody I Used to Know by Kentucky author David Bell. The reading is on November 8 with discussion and a visit with the author.
