[Audio] Campus Lights Production of Sister Act Marks the Group's 80th Anniversary

Campus Lights, Facebook

Murray State University’s Campus Lights is the longest running student produced and performed musical series in the south. This month’s performance of Sister Act marks the group's 80th anniversary. OSounds Good with Todd Hatton, Jessica Wiggins and Keioni Hall preview the show ahead of its January 20 opening.

Wiggins is the show’s publicity coordinator and Hall plays Deloris Van Cartier/Sister Mary Clarence, the spunky and spicy lounge singer who pretends to be a nun in order to hide from a mob boss. Wiggins and Hall say the audience can expect to experience a range of emotions as the student actors take them through sad, happy, and hilarious scenes.

The show runs January 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. and again January 22 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets can be found through the show’s Facebook event page.

Todd Hatton hails from Paducah, Kentucky, where he got into radio under the auspices of the late, great John Stewart of WKYX while a student at Paducah Community College. He also worked at WKMS in the reel-to-reel tape days of the early 1990s before running off first to San Francisco, then Orlando in search of something to do when he grew up. He received his MFA in Creative Writing at Murray State University. He vigorously resists adulthood and watches his wife, Angela Hatton, save the world one plastic bottle at a time.
A proud native of Murray, Kentucky, Allison grew up roaming the forests of western Kentucky and visiting national parks across the country. She graduated in 2014 from Murray State University where she studied Environmental Sustainability, Television Production, and Spanish. She loves meeting new people, questioning everything, and dancing through the sun and the rain. She hopes to make a positive impact in this world several endeavors at a time.
