[Audio] Calloway County Library Hosts Legislative Meet & Greet and More Fall Events

Jenni Todd, WKMS

The Calloway County Public Library hosts a series of events this month. On Sounds Good, Tracy Ross speaks with Sandy Linn  about the upcoming Legislative Meet & Greet, the Lounging With Literacy event, a Book Binding Workshop, the Zumba Gold Series and a Heath and Molly Concert.

The Legislative Meet & Greet is tomorrow (October 20) and is an opportunity to come by and tell elected officials why the library is important, she says.

Lounging with Literacy this Thursday (October 22) is a collaborative partnership with the Murray Area Council of the International Literacy Association. Geared towards kids between the ages of pre-school to third grade, come in pajamas; bring blankets, pillows and stuffed animals. The group reads stories and famous book characters will be there for photos. Snacks and free books will also be available. This was a very successful event last Spring, she says.

Book Binding Workshop is this Saturday with Nicole Hand Bryant. There are three spaces left for this event. It's from 9 a.m. to Noon, registration is required.

Zumba Gold Series returns, an exercise class for "active older adults." It's a fun class, Lynn says, but is easier on the joins. This free, five-week series has a few spaces left.

On Thursday, October 29 is a Heath & Molly concert.
