[Audio] Calloway Co. Public Library Events and Activities

Matt Markgraf, WKMS

Calloway County Public Library’s Sandy Linn talks with Tracy Ross on Sounds Good about upcoming events.

Yoga lessons have begun. The class is currently full but Linn says anyone interested in participating can call her or send her an email to be alerted of an opening. The library will also soon offer an 8 week Zumba series.

The library is also partnering with several Murray State University departments for three events: Lounging with Literacy, a Japanese cooking afternoon, and a book binding workshop. Linn says these partnerships help advance the library’s mission to promote life-long learning.

Ongoing library activities include book clubs, Movie Mondays for 4th through 8th grade students, computer and technology classes, and a lecture series. The Friends of the CCPL host a legislative meet and greet on October 24 from 4:30 to 6:00 and there are some upcoming writing workshops and book discussions as part of the Art of Inclusion project.
