[Audio] Bradley Recaps Racer Football & Looks Ahead to Homecoming

Tab Brockman, goracers.com

It's the middle of the OVC schedule and the Racers Football team is off to a rough start. With a few more games under their belt, the results were the same, but getting those results happened differently. On Sounds Good, Tracy Ross speaks with Voice of the Racers Neal Bradley about the past two games and the two coming up, including the Homecoming game on October 10.

September 19 vs Western Michigan 20-52

One of the worst things to happen to the Racers was that Western Michigan got pummeled the week before and when they came into this match, they had a 'not giving up a yard rushing' mentality. The Racers put up 20 points and had decent offense, but the jury's still out on defense, Bradley says.

September 26 vs Tennessee Tech 29-31

Tennessee Tech is one of those teams on the same footing as Murray State. The Racers should have won it, Bradley says. They fumbled several times and Tennessee Tech turned those into points on three occasions. They still had a chance to win it at the end, even with as many mistakes as they made. He says if they could correct the mistakes, they'd be a good team. Elijah Daniel was able to go up against someone his own size and dominated in this game.

October 3 vs Southeast Missouri

Bradley says there's really no prediction for this game. SEMO is a team that's different - they like to run the ball a good running attack. Tremaine McCullough is one of their players to watch. SEMO was a tough team the last time the Racers played them, with several overtimes. This should be a close game.

October 10 vs Austin Peay (Homecoming)

This is a team that's struggled since coming back to scholarship FCS football. Last year they had the longest losing streak in Division 1 Football until they played the Racers and ended that streak. The Racers would like to have a better showing this time around, he says. Austin Peay is a team that's improving but the Racers should be favored in this one, but it can't be a game where they have constant turnovers and penalties.
