'Arandano' is the Winner of the 2016 AQS Quilt Show

This year’s winners of the American Quilt Society’s annual QuiltWeek are sharing part of the $125,000 in cash prizes.  

Quilts from 29 states and 5 countries have won awards at this year’s contest.  

Some of the top winners include Marilyn Badger of Utah, Barbara Korengold of Maryland, Janneke de Vries-Bodzinga of The Netherlands and Aki Sakai of Japan. See the full list below.

Nearly 600 quilts are on display at the Paducah-McCracken County Expo and Convention Center through this Friday.  

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club. Rob's goal is to become a screenwriter, film director or producer and looks to the likes of Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie for inspiration. He appreciates good music, mainly favoring British rock n' roll, and approves of anything with Jack White's name on it. When not studying, rowing or writing, Rob enjoys spending his free time with a book or guitar.
