A recent appointee to the University of Louisville board of trustees has declined the position, and Governor Matt Bevin has appointed someone to replace him.

Doug Cobb of Louisville wrote a letter to Bevin saying he had to decline the appointment "after careful consideration."

Cobb's Twitter account came under scrutiny after his appointment. The Courier Journal reported it included a series of tweets calling for the firing of head men's basketball coach Rick Pitino and denying climate change. His account is no longer active.

Bevin appointed Louisville attorney Brian Cromer to replace Cobb. Bevin spokeswoman Amanda Stamper said Cromer has 25 years of experience in corporate law and said he will be a "great value" to the board.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
