Fort Campbell, KY – Another brigade from Fort Campbell is heading to Afghanistan this year, increasing the number of deployed troops from the installation to around 20,000. A Pentagon report says the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division will be part of a buildup of 30,000 troops ordered by President Barack Obama. About 3,200 soldiers from the 4th Brigade will leave in the late summer. The announcement means that all four of the 101st Airborne Division's brigade combat teams are set for deployment, as well as an aviation brigade and the division's headquarters.
