An aluminum trailer manufacturer is locating to Dawson Springs, creating 50 full-time jobs. Wink Equipment is investing $1.55 million the deal, including building a 69,000 square foot facility.

In a news release, Governor Matt Bevin said the company chose the community straddling Hopkins and Caldwell counties for its proximity to aluminum and steel and for being a central location for shipping.

Wink plans to construct 400 to 600 aluminum side-dump trailers per year in the Dawson Springs location.

The company's president Jimmy Wink said, "We’re thrilled to start manufacturing in Western Kentucky. It’s a region I’ve known for years and, for our company, it offers the skilled workforce, raw materials and access to market we need."

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company in October for tax incentives up to $480,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program, granting the company a portion of its investment through corporate income tax credits.

Wink can also use the Kentucky Skills Network, which allows companies no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduce-cost training and other related incentives.

Operations are set to begin next year.
