38th Annual Trigg County Ham Festival This Weekend

It's all about testing, cooking and eating ham in Cadiz this weekend. The Trigg County Ham Festival also features a carnival and petting zoo for kids, Janice Mason Art Museum's Quilt Show, country music concerts, and non-profits raising money for their activities. Festival booth chair and WKDZ/WHVO business office manager Melissa Noel tells Kate Lochte about some of the more than 200 booths planned, on Sounds Good.

The festival an effort to preserve the craft of curing hams as well as raise funds for non-profits in Cadiz and the Trigg County area. In addition to the quilt show and concerts, another festival highlight is the preparation and feast of "Kentucky's Largest Country Ham & Biscuit" on Saturday, which weighs approximately 400 pounds.

The Trigg County Ham Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Janice Mason Art Museum in downtown Cadiz hosts the Trigg County Ham Festival Quilt Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Matt Markgraf joined the WKMS team as a student in January 2007. He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011.
