Smithland, KY – Eight potential jurors in the sentencing trial of Kevin Wayne Dunlap have been disqualified for strong opinions for or against the death penalty. 37-year-old Dunlap pleaded guilty this week to all charges of killing three Trigg County children, stabbing their mother, Kristy Frensley, and burning their Roaring Springs home. The Paducah Sun reports three more potential jurors were dismissed for other reasons. Circuit Judge C.A. Woodall, prosecutors, and defense attorneys will continue vetting the pool of 98 potential jurors. Commonwealth's Attorney G.L. Ovey is seeking the death penalty in the case.
