Metropolis, IL – Some 100,000 people visited Metropolis, Illinois' Fort Massac State Park this weekend. The 1800's American fort replica portrays pioneer life with its barracks, homes, and stockade. This weekend's highlight was a battle reenactment among the fort's French marines, British infantry, and American Indian tribes. According to the Paducah Sun, the figures are an estimate based on Saturday's attendance.
