Kala Dunn is a native of Princeton, Ky. She’s a 2006 graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy with a concentration in flute performance and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University with a B.M. in piano performance. Her hobbies include yoga, kayaking, reading, running, and listening to music. She lives in Hamlin, Ky.

Cooper Clayton Smoking Cessation classes start Tuesday, January 7, at the Center for Health & Wellness on Poplar Street in Murray. The 13-week series of classes meets each Tuesday at 5:30. The Yeiser Art Center has issued a call for entries for its 2014 Fantastic Fibers competitive exhibition. The submission deadline is January 25, 2014. Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park hosts a Rook tournament the weekend of January 10th through the 12th. The round-robin tournament begins Friday evening and runs through Saturday evening. Free Christmas tree permits are still available at Land Between the Lakes today and tomorrow. A permit allows a family to cut one cedar tree. Permits, maps, and cutting guidelines are available today from 8 to 4:30 and tomorrow until noon at the LBL Administrative Office. For more information, visit lbl.org.
