Kala Dunn is a native of Princeton, Ky. She’s a 2006 graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy with a concentration in flute performance and a 2010 graduate of Murray State University with a B.M. in piano performance. She is employed by Physical Medicine Services. Her hobbies include yoga, kayaking, reading, running, and listening to music. She lives in Hamlin, Ky.

National Trails Day Volunteer Work Day canceled: Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area has canceled the volunteer work day slated for Saturday, June 7, on the Hillman Heritage National Recreation Trail.  To celebrate National Trails Day, the Nature Station staff-led hike on Long Creek Trail will go forward as planned at 11am. June 7 on Long Creek Trail is an accessible, paved ½ mile trail. Nature Station staff will introduce visitors to the many ecosystems along the trail and within Woodlands Nature Watch Area.

In celebration of National Trails Day, Land Between the Lakes invites the public to help with trail maintenance this Saturday at Hillman Heritage National Recreation Trail. Meet at the Hillman Ferry Campground gatehouse at 9 a.m. for a tailgate safety briefing. Bring lunch and drinking water and dress appropriately. The Forest Service provides all tools and equipment.
