Jenni Todd

Membership Coordinator

Jenni Todd, a native of Murray, attended Murray State University for her undergraduate degree in Music Education. After graduation, she attended Florida State University and received a Masters degree in Arts Administration from the FSU College of Music. Equipped with knowledge and enthusiasm for the arts, administration, and fundraising, Jenni participated in an internship with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra in Pensacola, Florida. She later worked for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, in Columbus, Ohio, as Donor Relations and Stewardship Manager. Jenni returned to her home state of Kentucky in 2007. She and her husband, Matthew, have a daughter, Susie, and a Standard Poodle, Lola.

Dr. Bob to Guest Host Sounds Good

Dr. Bob Lochte, host of The Eisenhower Hour, returns to WKMS after a two-year hiatus. Dr. Bob will sit-in for host Tracy Ross during Sounds Good, 11 a.m. -1 p.m., the second Friday of each month beginning January 11.

Listeners Exceed WKMS Fall Fundraiser and New Member Goal

Contributors to Murray State’s NPR station, 91.3 WKMS, exceeded the fall fundraiser goal of $130,000 in community support on October 31, 2012. A total of 1,104 contributions came from new and renewing donors from fifteen states.

Membership Coordinator Jenni Todd says, “WKMS set a goal of 150 new members for this fall’s membership campaign, and we are delighted to report that 175 listeners became members for the first time ever.  Our long-standing renewing contributors are pleased to know our sustaining membership is growing.”

WKMS Celebrates with Company for the Holidays

Murray State’s NPR station, 91.3 WKMS-FM, continues Company for the Holidays, the annual series of special music and storytelling programs for public radio enthusiasts during the holiday season. The special series continues through New Year's Day 2013 and includes over 40 hours of special holiday radio features. There are two features airing the second week of December.

Sounds Good Wreath Contest Winners

Murray State’s NPR station, 91.3 WKMS-FM, has announced winners of its holiday wreath making contest. Wreaths are on display in Murray State’s Waterfield Library through the end of November and then most go to Murray Calloway County Hospital to decorate for the holiday season. Images of all wreaths are also on the WKMS Facebook page.

Media Release: WKMS Fall Drive On a Fast Track

Listeners contributed over $90,000 in three weeks in September to take the fall fundraiser of Murray State’s NPR station, 91.3 WKMS-FM, to within 30 percent of completing its $130,000 goal in community support.  WKMS Membership Coordinator Jenni Todd says, “During our on-air campaign we welcomed 120 new contributors with special gifts.”  Todd adds, “we’ll be working with our renewing members to complete the fundraiser by mail or online, and we’re also working to add 30 more first time contributors to complete our 150 new member goal this fall.”

Media Release: WKMS Cookie Contest Finalists Announced

Murray State’s NPR station, 91.3 WKMS-FM, has narrowed the field of competition to five finalists in its first annual cookie contest. The five cookie makers convene in the food preparation laboratories of MSU’s Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Management Program this Saturday. The finalists are:  Patricia Carrico for French Cream Wafers; Erin Carrico for Coconut Butter Cookies; Barbara Cox for Double Chocolate Dream Cookies; Jessica Evans for Macadamia Cookies with Lemon and White Chocolate; and Susie Fenwick for Brown Butter Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Sounds Good with Tracy Ross and Friends on WKMS

Murray State’s NPR Station 91.3 WKMS-FM  rolls out a new schedule of programs starting Labor Day weekend, including its new flagship show Sounds Good with Tracy Ross and Friends weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. which debuts Tuesday, September 4.   The public radio icon, Fresh Air with Terry Gross, moves to 3 p.m. weekdays starting Monday, September 3.

Media Release: WKMS Returns to ROMP Labor Day Weekend

On Labor Day weekend Murray State’s NPR Station, 91.3 WKMS-FM, broadcasts a total of five hours of music from ROMP 2012 in Owensboro, Kentucky, portions of which the station broadcast live in late June from Yellow Springs Park thanks to the International Bluegrass Music Museum which puts on the festival annually.

On Sunday, September 2, WKMS offers a three hour bloc of its Labor Day weekend special concert from 1 to 4 p.m. culminating with headliners Pokey LaFarge and South City Three from 3 to 4 p.m.  The groups Town Mountain and 23 String Band open the show from 1 to 2 p.m. The high-energy Boston-based group The Deadly Gentlemen have the 2 to 3 hour all to themselves.  WKMS pre-empts the regular programs The Jazzman Show at 1 p.m. and American Routes from 2 to 4 p.m. only for this Sunday’s special.
