Brenna Angel

Lexington native Brenna Angel anchored local morning newscasts for WUKY through May 13. She joined the station in March 2010 after previously working for WHAS-AM in Louisville.

Her work has been honored by the Hearst Foundation, the Radio Television Digital News Association, and the Associated Press. Several of Brenna’s stories have aired on NPR’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered.

Brenna accepted a position with the Lexington Mayor's Office in May 2013.

KY Supreme Court Rules Teachers Actions Not "Conduct Unbecoming"

The Kentucky Supreme Court has ruled in favor of a longtime Fayette County elementary school teacher who was suspended without pay for nearly a year and a half for how she disciplined children running in the hall.

In their opinion issued last week, justices found that Rosalind Hurley-Richards did not commit “conduct unbecoming a teacher” when she used physical contact to direct a rowdy second-grade boy toward the principal’s office. The 7-year-old student was not harmed.

Kennel Club Donates Small Animal Equipment to Lexington Fire Department

Lexington firefighters will soon learn how to help some unique patients suffering from smoke inhalation or other trauma.

Veterinarian Dr. Jennifer Carl-Howard showed firefighters Wednesday how to use oxygen masks designed for dogs, cats, and other small animals.

The new equipment was donated to the fire department from the Lexington Kennel Club.
