LBL Opening Reservations This Week

Land Between The Lakes is taking reservations for the 2014 camping season starting this week. 

People wanting to camp between March 1 and 23 may make a reservation beginning tomorrow (Tuesday). For March 24 to April 14, reservations may be made starting Wednesday.

Starting Thursday, reservations may be made for the period from April 15 to May 11.

The Democrat says legislative leaders are waiting for actuaries to crunch numbers on some proposals they're considering.

The House Personnel and Pensions Committee yesterday approved a measure that lawmakers could amend with a pension deal.

Prominent Kentucky banker Jess Correll says he's urging former Louisville councilman Hal Heiner to enter the Republican primary in the 2015 Governor’s race.

Correll says the former Louisville mayoral candidate reflects Kentucky's conservative values and would lead the state in a new direction.

Heiner said yesterday he's giving the race "careful consideration" but doesn't have a timetable.
