Calvert City Resurrects Town 'Follies'

Calverty City, KY – The reverberating sound of chatter rings through the Calvert City Elementary gym Tuesday as hundreds of residents squeeze into bleachers and metal chairs. Everyone in the room has turned to face a stage set with donated Christmas trees as they wait for the resurrection of goofiness and jest called the Calvert City Follies.

Interview with Dr. Antonia Thompson

Murray, KY – Dr. Antonio Thompson is an assistant professor of history at Austin Peay State University. Thompson has spent years researching World War II POW camps in the United States. His first book, German Jackboots on Ketucky Bluegrass: Housing German Prisoners of War in Kentucky, 1942 - 46 highlights a uniquely regional part of US history. Angela Hatton spoke with Thompson about his book.

State Completes Highway

Hopkinsville, KY – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has awarded a forty million dollar contract to Princeton-based Rogers Group, LLC to complete the Ned Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway south of Hopkinsville. The four-point-nine mile extension will require about two years of construction. When completed, the parkway will relieve congestion on US-41-A and create a direct connection Interstate-24.
