Clarksville City Council Ordinance May Ban Dogs From Certain Parks

Clarksville, TN – Residents' complaints are prompting Clarksville officials rethink a new ordinance. The City Council recently approved the first reading of an ordinance allowing the park system to ban dogs from certain parks. A second and final reading is scheduled for later this week. Parks and Recreation Committee Chairman Bill Forrester says he's received overwhelming public response to the measure, with almost all against the ban. The Committee is set to meet Thursday to possibly discuss a compromise.

Police Investigate Relationship in the Marshall School System

Benton, KY – The Kentucky State Police are investigating an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student in the Marshall County School System. Trooper Dean Patterson says the allegations were leveled against a school system employee. The case will soon go before the Grand Jury for indictment. Patterson would not release the name of the employee because police have yet to file charges.

KY's jobless rate hits 26-year high

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky's preliminary unemployment rate for May has jumped to its highest level in nearly 26 years. Kim Saylor Brannock of the Office of Employment and Training says the job losses are cutting across several sectors of the state's economy.

I would say it's being led by manufacturing but also trade, which of course is connected to manufacturing. It's really a ripple effect throughout all the sectors because they overlap each other.
