Bigger Cuts Expected

Frankfort, KY – In a letter mailed last Friday and obtained by Kentucky Public Radio, State Budget Director Mary Lassiter is warning of possible budget cuts of three-to-four percent this fiscal year. That's higher than the two-point-six percent cuts in Gov. Steve Beshear's budget-balancing plan approved by state lawmakers last month. Secretary of State Trey Grayson got one of the letters.

Louisville, KY – Tomorrow begins the fourth annual Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Economic Summit. This year's summit focuses on "The New Agenda for Kentucky," a program the chamber launched over a year ago. The agenda's five goals are Public Education, Modernizing Government, Health and Wellness, Energy, and Global Competition. Calloway County Bootleg Liquor Bust

Lynn Grove, KY – Three Calloway County residents were arrested over the weekend in a state police investigation into the illegal sale of alcohol in Lynn Grove. Paula Beard of Dexter, and Allisha Bucy and Edward Johnson, Jr. of Murray were cited for intent to sell alcohol at Thunder Holler. Authorities siezed almost 700 bottles of beer, wine, and liquor. The investigation is ongoing.
