Cadiz Man Honored

Cadiz, Ky. – A Cadiz man has been honored by the Kentucky Association of Conservation Districts. William Lawrence earned a distinguished Service Award for his service on the Kentucky Soil and Water Conservation Commission. Lawrence received the award recently at the annual convention in Louisville.

KET Launches Reel Visions

Lexington, KY – Kentucky Educational Television is launching a new platform for aspiring state filmmakers. KET producer Kelli Burton says beginning tonight budding directors will debut their productions on a program called "Reel Visions."

There's been a lot of quality short films being made throughout Kentucky by young people, by people in school, by film professors just for fun, but there's only a small amount of film festivals around the region.

Henry County Medical Center Posts First Loss Since 1992

Paris, TN – Henry County Medical Center is finding that healthcare is not recession-proof, as it reports its first net loss since 1992. The end of the fiscal year marked a loss of almost $400,000. Administrator Tom Gee says that although bad, the situation could have been much worse. The hospital was looking at a loss nearing $700,000, but saw an upturn in revenue at the last-minute. The hospital is now averaging sixty-five patients a day and expects positive reporting in the month ahead.
