Still No Executive Inn Agreement

Paducah, KY – With a December 18 settlement deadline looming, Logan Asset Backed Fund and Paducah's Executive Inn owner Bhupinder Singh still have not yet reached an agreement over the hotel's $3.5 million mortgage foreclosure.

Logan's attorney Todd Farmer tells the Paducah Sun an agreement doesn't look likely at this point. The two parties have been negotiating for months to settle issues that have left the hotel and convention center empty for most of the year.

KY Election Officials Worried about Budget Cuts

Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson says budget cuts in the State Board of Elections would be a bad move. Grayson and heads of state government agencies have sent letters to Budget Director Mary Lassiter listing potential ramifications of 6% cuts Governor Beshear has called for.

Alcohol ordinance Revised

Cadiz, KY – The Trigg County alcohol ordinance has undergone slight revision. Following a first reading November 23, the fiscal court revised the ordinance to allow smoking in public places that serve alcohol. The fiscal court meets again December 7 for the second reading. Trigg County citizens voted to repeal prohibition by a narrow margin in September.

Fort Campbell Soldiers Continue to Come Back

Fort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell officials report more soldiers will be returning from Afghanistan beginning this Friday. More than 500 soldiers from the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade will land at the base. The brigade has been on a twelve month deployment.

Fort Campbell soldiers return from Afghanistan

Fort Campbell, Ky – Fort Campbell officials report more soldiers will be returning from Afghanistan beginning this Friday. More than 500 soldiers from the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade will land at the base. The brigade has been on a twelve month deployment. Members of the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade will be welcomed in ceremonies at the following dates and times:

Friday, Dec. 4, 5:15 a.m.
Friday, Dec. 4, 7:30 a.m.
Sunday, Dec. 6, 5 a.m.
Thursday, Dec. 10, 2:20 p.m.
