Murray, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear will attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to recognize the final section of KY Hwy. 80 between Aurora and Mayfield. The stretch of road won't open today, however. Recent rain has delayed construction. State Senator Ken Winters of Murray says the new section will make the drive from Mayfield to Murray and the Kentucky and Barkley lakes quicker and safer.
Caldwell Co., KY – Kentucky First Lady Jane Beshear has announced $1.1 million for new horse camping sites at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park. Between ten and fifteen full service sites will be added for horse camping. The funds come from an allotment for state park improvements.
Springfield, IL – Governor Pat Quinn wants Illinois to take out a short-term loan of nearly $1 billion to get the indebted state through the winter. Quinn says he expects a "favorable" interest rate of 1 percent or less on the loan. It would have to be paid back before the end of the fiscal year. The state borrowed $1.4 billion last December to pay its bills in the near term. Lawmakers convene again tomorrow (today) for the final days of the fall veto session.
Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has announced nearly a million dollars in grants to help improve 911 systems across the state. In western Kentucky, grant recipients are Christian County, Muhlenberg County, and the city of Henderson. Agencies will use the funds to upgrade equipment and provide training for dispatchers.

Beshear along with other city, county and state officials will be on hand for a ceremonial ribbon cutting for Kentucky highway 80 from Coldwater to Murray. Rain has slowed construction on the stretch of road, but highway officials hope to open the roadway in 2-weeks.
