"Arts in Healing" gains support from healthcare professionals

Louisville, KY – While Congress considers how America manages its healthcare system, some art and health organizations in Kentucky are pushing to instill art into the healing process. As Kentucky Public Radio's Elizabeth Kramer reports, their efforts are increasingly gaining support from healthcare professionals.

At the Kentucky Center, Louisville artist Graciela Perrone is dancing flamenco for about 20 other artists.

Coaches Hope for Wins at State Football Tournament

Bowling Green, KY – Western Kentucky high schools could make history today and tomorrow at the state football championship in Bowling Green. Four teams from the region are competing for the win in four separate divisions. Fort Campbell and Lone Oak compete in games today, while Mayfield and Paducah Tilghman face off against opponents tomorrow. Tilghman Athletic Director Duane Wall says the team struggled early in the season.

MSU Student Youth Delegate at U.N. Conference

Murray, KY – Next week the 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference begins in Copenhagen, Denmark. Among the thousands of event participants, one Murray State Student will be there. Junior Sarah Kelty is part of a youth delegation that will craft policies to be discussed during the main conference. Chad Lampe speaks with Kelty about her trip and her environmental agenda.

Four Teams Go to State

Bowling Green, KY – High school football in Western Kentucky could get the glory this weekend. A surprising four teams are competing in this year's state championships in Bowling Green. Lone Oak, Paducah Tilghman, Mayfield, and Fort Campbell high schools will play for separate championships in their divisions. Mayfield High School head football coach Joe Morris says the championships give teams a rare opportunity to root for each other.

Playhouse and Market House: Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Murray and Paducah – A contemporary holiday classic has been a favorite for local theater groups this season. Before Thanksgiving, the Purchase Players in Mayfield put on the play "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever." Friday, Murray's Playhouse in the Park opens the play, and next week, the curtains rise on Paducah's Market House Theater's run of the show. Jacque Day speaks with the directors of the Playhouse and Market House shows about the draw of this wily pageant comedy.
