Muhlenburg Coal Revival

Greenville, KY – Coal is making a comeback in Muhlenberg County. The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer reports that mining jobs had declined from more than 3,500 in 1977 to under 1,000 in 2008, but now the county is seeing a revival. Ohio-based KenAmerican Resources announced last week its Paradise Mine will reopen at the end of the month and eventually will offer 250 to 300 jobs.
