2007 CDC study rates Henry County

Henry County, TN – The Centers for Disease Control recently released a study showing Tennessee's county obesity and diabetes percentages for 2007. Henry County had an obesity rate of just over 33 percent, ranking it among the highest in the state. Diabetes rates were on the low end at almost 10 and a half percent. The study also showed that more than fifty-five percent of Tennesseans diagnosed with diabetes are obese as well.

Serial Rapist Pleads Guilty

Dresden, TN – An accused Tennessee serial rapist has pled guilty in Weakley County Circuit Court. Thirty-six year old Bruce Tuck pled guilty this morning to 22 charges, including aggravated rape, kidnapping, and burglary. The three separate rape incidents occurred near Martin, Tennessee in July and August. Tuck was sentenced to sixty years in a state correctional facility for the crimes. Police also suspect Tuck in rapes that occurred near Memphis, but so far they have been unable to tie him to the cases.
