Murray, KY – Every so often I'll get a panicky email from a new dog owner:

"I think my dog is having seizures. When he is sound asleep he will twitch his legs and his eyes roll around and he yelps in pain. What do I do?"

Responsible Dog Owners

Murray, KY – At the City Commissioners meeting on August 26th Paducah Mayor Bill Paxton proclaimed September to be Responsible Dog Ownership Month. One of the commissioners muttered, Oh lord, now we've gone to the dogs.

Families, not Washington, Provide the Change we Need

Murray, KY – Last Monday Barack Obama spoke at a Louisville rally which the media likened to a rock concert loud music, large crowds and fainting women. But what moved the estimated 10,000 in attendance more than anything was the theme that America needs change.

Murray, KY – When CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler said the network was "going to throw out the rule book," in late 2006, she wasn't kidding. In case anybody was wondering just what rules she was talking about, the wait is over. On June 5, CBS officially joined the marriage deconstruction movement when it premiered Swingtown-- an edgy sitcom that eviscerates what is left of marriage in our postmodern culture.

First Memories

Murray, KY – Most people remember events from the age of four or five. Some much later. My wife is a member of an elite number who have very early memories. She can clearly recall, as an infant, lying outdoors in her pram on a sunny day, looking up at the trees. And today she can even describe in detail what she was wearing then.
