EPA Water Grant

Louisville, KY – The Environmental Protection Agency will provide 20-million-dollars to improve local water utilities across Kentucky. EPA administrator Stan Meiburg [MY-berg] in Atlanta tells the Courier-Journal the funds will help the state's efforts to upgrade aging drinking water supplies and will provide jobs. The agency funds the program to help finance improvements with an emphasis on small and disadvantaged communities. The funds will be distributed through the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority.

Bunning Reacts to Conway Run

Bowling Green, KY – Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway is adding himself to the Democratic line-up for U-S Senate in 2010. With Congress in recess, Republican Jim Bunning was on the campaign trail in Bowling Green when Conway made his announcement, but as Lisa Autry reports, the incumbent senator didn't seem particularly interested.

Conway Announces Senate Run

Bowling Green, KY – A three-way Democratic Primary is shaping up for next year's U.S. Senate race in Kentucky. Attorney General Jack Conway says he'll run for the seat, now held by two-term republican Jim Bunning. Lieutenant Governor Daniel Mongiardo has already entered the race. Mongiardo commented on a potential Conway candidacy during a February visit to Western Kentucky University.
