Jobless Rates High, Calloway Still Low

Frankfort, KY – Despite high unemployment rates across the Commonwealth, Calloway County continues to have the second-lowest jobless rate in the state. The Kentucky Office of Employment and Training released figures today that show statewide jobless rates dropped slightly from 10.6 percent in October to 10.1 percent in November. Calloway County showed 7.5 percent unemployment. Only Jefferson County had a lower rate. Trigg County had the fifth highest unemployment rate statewide. That number, 15.9 percent, hasn't changed since October.

Henry Sentenced

Frankfort, KY – Former Kentucky Lt. Gov. Steve Henry admits his failed 2007 gubernatorial campaign violated several campaign finance laws, but not knowingly. As part of a plea agreement, Henry was fined $500 and sentenced to 12-months in jail, conditionally discharged for two years. Henry admits his campaign made mistakes, including using computers bought for his U.S. Senate exploratory campaign.
