Princeton, KY – State. Rep. Mike Cherry, a Princeton Democrat, wants to give schools in storm-ravaged parts of the state a break on instructional days this year. Cherry says he's planning to file a bill this week that would allow schools to meet a minimum 167 instructional days this year. Currently, schools are required to have a minimum of 177 school days. Cherry says, he doesn't want to push the school year abnormally forward into June.
Murray, KY – Across parts of the Southeast, communities continue to recover from last week's ice storm. Kentucky's governor says it's the worst natural disaster his state has ever faced. Several hundred thousand people still have no electricity and it is expected to be frigid there Monday night.
