Weather Service Predicts Snow

Paducah, KY – Winter weather advisories for southern Illinois and western Kentucky will continue through Tuesday. Snow accumulation of between 1 and 2 inches is expected for the area, with 4 to 6 inches possible in counties along the Ohio River. The heaviest snowfall is expected after midnight tonight. Near the Kentucky-Tennessee border, a mix of snow and rain could occur. Crews are pre-treating highways, but be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility.

KSP Busts Marion Eagles Club

Marion, KY – Two Marion residents have been charged with illegally selling alcohol. 61-year-old David Eskew and 69-year-old Judith McDonald were arrested after Kentucky State troopers raided the Eagles Club over the weekend. Police say they confiscated a large amount of alcohol, cash and illegal gaming devices from the establishment.

Metropolis Development Progress

Metropolis, IL – The city of Metropolis and development firm G Squared, LLC have entered into a deal, where they hope to build several multi-million dollar facilities along the Ohio riverfront. Metropolis is to not entertain any other developers, while G Squared works on a comprehensive plan that would build a 220-room hotel, a 55,000-square-foot convention center, and a 500-space parking garage. Mayor Billy McDaniel tells the Paducah Sun that despite the economy, he feels the plan is finally progressing again.
